Haymarket Museum (Old Town Hall and School)

The Town of Haymarket, nestled in the first foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Prince William County has a rich history dating back to its formal founding in 1799. After a massive fire in November 1862, during the Civil War, only four buildings survived — the town recovered slowly and soon began to prosper. It’s population boomed in the 1970s, when it became Exit 40 of I-66.

The Old Town Hall and School, also known as the Haymarket Museum, is located at the corner of Washington Street and Fayette Street. Featured west of the museum, in its parking lot sits an historic Southern Railway Caboose. It’s open once a year to the public during the Haymarket Day festival in September.
